Change of date for Summmer Heritage Tour

The Heritage late/afternoon tour of the line with our own historians,  advertised in our main timetable leaflet, has been moved from 29th June to Saturday 13th July. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Tickets are priced £22 for Adults (reductions apply for Association members, shareholders and children over 11 and under 16).

Tickets are now available by calling 01797 362353. The price includes a complimentary Day Rover and light Afternoon tea.

NB The tour is not suitable for younger children.

Driver Experience Courses: Autumn 2013

Our courses are very hands on and include at least 17 miles at the regulator, a light breakfast, lunch and initial safety briefing and certificate as well as expert tuition. From the feedback we receive they are great fun too.

Each day costs £275.00 payable on booking and it is possible to accommodate groups of three who wish to do these together.

Those who have already undertaken the basic course can join an Advanced Course for £400.00 sharing only with one other person:

These very popular ways of joining in the maintenance and improvement work on the railway were traditionally winter affairs but now continue through the summer also.

If you have attended before and have attended a Safety induction day please just let Steve Godden know so that we can manage the work activities accordingly. Food and drink is provided.

If you have not volunteered before it is not a problem but we will need to get you up to speed on an induction day. Not too onerous but a good way to become part of the team. This can be arranged by sending an email to
